Tips to Help Your Pet and Yourself in an Emergency Situation Each emergency is important to us, and we of course urge concerned pet owners to contact us if they feel care is needed. The following tips are offered to help you and your pet through emergency situations. Remember as with any emergency: While it is not always easy in cases of extreme trauma, collected thought is very helpful to both the doctor or staff member answering your call and to your companion. We of course always caution all companion animal owners to use caution when handling an injured pet. While your companion knows who you are, if the pain is extreme enough, the animal may attempt to bite. If this is the case, a muzzle may be necessary to keep from being bitten.
