Southshore Veterinary Service is Proud to offer Emergency Services 24
hours a day, all year round. In an effort to aid you and your companion
when care is needed most, Emergency contact information as well as what
to do in these situations is provided.
After Hours Emergencies
If
your call is after office hours, Please call the following number:
406-883-7601. This is the number to a Doctor's pager. A voice will
announce that, "You have reached Southshore Veterinary's Pager." The next
announcement will ask you to enter your phone number after the tone.
Please dial your phone number after the tone. A doctor will contact you
shortly thereafter.
Please remember to dial your phone number after the tone.
If a phone number is not dialed, then the number will not show up on the
pager.
Important:
When
calling after hours to our regular business line, please follow the
instructions left on the prerecorded voice message for emergencies.
Tips to Help Your Pet and Yourself in an
Emergency Situation
Each
emergency is important to us, and we of course urge concerned pet owners
to contact us if they feel care is needed. The following tips are offered
to help you and your pet through emergency situations.
Remember as with any emergency: While it is not always easy in cases of
extreme trauma, collected thought is very helpful to both the doctor or
staff member answering your call and to your companion.
We of course always caution all companion animal owners to use caution
when handling an injured pet. While your companion knows who you are, if
the pain is extreme enough, the animal may attempt to bite. If this is
the case, a muzzle may be necessary to keep from being bitten.
